Kids Aerial Yoga Classes are aimed at children from 7 years to 16 years. Classes will include yoga poses for children, creative yoga games, breathing and meditation exercise and guided imagery. There will be one child to each hammock. Class will last 45 minutes.
Adults Aerial Yoga Aerial yoga combines the physical practice of yoga with the use of a suspended hammock. This class is suitable for complete beginners and those with no yoga experience, learn to work with the fabric to increase flexibility and strength, lengthen and stretch and enjoy a deep relaxation to close. There will be one adult to each hammock and there will be both grounded and air-based movements.
Family Aerial Yoga This class is a fun and friendly class suitable for accompanied children aged 4-11 years old. 1 adult and 1 child can share the hammock or book one hammock for yourself and another for your child/children for plenty of airtime. This class is suitable for complete beginners or previous class attendees. Class will last 45 minutes. Perfect for an afternoon or evening class.
Adults Yin Aerial Yoga Experience the wonderful combination of yin yoga with aerial yoga. There will be one person per hammock and the hammock will be lowered to just above floor height. Yin yoga is a quiet meditative yoga practice where poses are held for 3-5 minutes. It targets connective tissue rather than muscle; so instead of actively engaging your muscles, you relax into the stretch and let gravity do its work. It encourages joint mobility. It is a very calming practice, great to soothe the mind and reset the nervous system. Perfect for an evening class, it will allow you a perfect opportunity to wind down before a restful sleep. Aerial Yin Yoga on a Saturday is 1 hour and 15 minutes for you to enjoy further relaxation.
Aerial Hoop Aerial Hoop combines dance, circus skills and fitness. The aerial hoop is a large steel hoop, which is wrapped to create grip, suspended from the ceiling on which you can perform a range of moves, drops, and poses. Aerial Hoop is a fantastic and enjoyable way of targeting all the major muscle groups. You will build strength and improve your flexibility with a range of strength building, conditioning, tricks, and inverts. Please note there will be a maximum of 4 people to one hoop.
What to wear for Aerial Yoga Classes? Clothing – Wear comfortable gym gear such as leggings or joggers and a t-shirt or long-sleeved top that covers the under arms. Please do not wear any clothes with zips or buttons, or jewellery except a plain wedding band. No shoes are worn during class, but grip socks/yoga socks may be worn. Please wear a mask to enter and exit the building however during class no mask is worn. Equipment You will be required to bring your own mat to class. Once you have booked your place you will be emailed a Covid 19 screening questionnaire and class registration form. Both of which must be completed prior to attending class.
