Sports Massage Therapy and Personal Trainer

Hello, I’m a Sports Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer whose aim is to help you to improve your health, fitness and confidence.

I worked in adult social care for over 21 years and during my time helping others through the social care system and having struggled for many years with my own weight, health, fitness and confidence, I discovered a passion for health and fitness in 2002. Having joined a gym, lost weight and gained some self-confidence, I decided that I wanted to help others too.

I started my own learning in health and fitness, gaining a qualification in Exercise to Music and teaching Aqua Aerobics. However, my career in social care at that time didn’t afford me the opportunity to teach more than a couple of classes a month.

A few years on and I decided that I needed to further care for my own health and decided that I needed to change my career to improve my well-being. I left adult social care and set up my own business as a dog walker. This fulfilled my need to care for myself but not the need to help others and my passion for health and fitness.

As such I studied to become a sports massage therapist and personal trainer. I know from experience the role that massage plays in maintaining movement, strength and recovery. I qualified as a level 3 Sports Massage Therapist in September 2018 and set up massaging people I train with and taking referrals from other sources too – mainly word of mouth from those I have treated.

I specialise in maintenance massage, as well as pre- and post-event massage and will tailor a massage to meet your needs.

I am interested in how the body works and, through massage, find any areas that hold tension, improve relaxation, minimise muscle tension, improve range of motion and aid better recovery to affected areas by raising blood circulation.

I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and facilitating your best outcomes, being that maintenance and/or recovery.
