I came up to the North East from West Yorkshire in 1996 to train as a physiotherapist and qualified in 1999 from Northumbria University, incidentally with clinic co-owner and former flatmate Mark Smith!

My first role was at the former Dryburn Hospital as a Junior rotational physiotherapist. Whilst other specialities of physiotherapy interested me, I always knew my focus would be on musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.

I left the NHS to work as a locum and was fortunate to secure a post in a private hospital, working under a great mentor at the Nuffield Hospital in Stockton on Tees. This transitioned me rapidly into the private model of physiotherapy delivery, which I remain passionate about to this day.

I’ve since branched out to work in a variety of other settings and private clinics, including some work in occupational health and ergonomics which has widened my scope as a practitioner. I maintain a strong belief in the benefits of private, ‘hands-on’, treatment orientated physiotherapy and whilst I embrace all new methods of thinking and advancements in physiotherapy practice, some of the tried and tested (and successful) methods simply can’t be ignored. However, I will work with you to establish your goals and agree upon a suitable treatment and rehabilitation regime that fits your needs and wishes.

I’m delighted to join Tayloredfit Physio and work with the team to try and help reduce pain, restore movement, and get patients back to their normal way of life. Given that I count the owners as close friends, coupled with the amazing environment of the chapel, it was an easy decision when offered the opportunity to come onboard.
