Bsc Hons Sports Therapy, MSST

Sports Therapist

I graduated in 2008 with a Bsc Hons in Sports Therapy. I have a passion for sport and exercise and a keen interest in supporting others to achieve their goals. My main focus is to provide care that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of patients back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness.

Since qualifying I have gained experience with a wide range of individuals from amateur to elite level. I have worked as a Sports Massage Therapist in both the London 2012 Olympic Games and the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships. This has enabled me to work with a variety of athletes across many sports and disciplines.

I have experience of treating both children and adults from multiple sports. Having worked within Boxing, MMA, Athletics and Gymnastics clubs. I have developed my skills and become a versatile therapist with the ability to adapt my treatment to meet the individual patients needs.

I recognise that I am a life-long learner and regularly attend professional development events to ensure my knowledge is kept up to date with current research. I thrive on working within a multi-practitioner setting and sharing good practise with other professionals.

In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and have a particular interest in running. Since the age of 12, I have been a club athlete originally with Gateshead Harriers and Athletics Club and more recently Washington Running Club. Taking part in sport myself, I fully understand the importance of integrating sports massage into training.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you to achieve your goals.
