Osteopathy
Osteopathy
Osteopathy takes a holistic, whole-body, approach to healthcare. It is a patient focused, non-invasive, manual therapy that aims to balance all body systems to provide overall good health and well-being. This means that treatment does not focus only on the problem area, but sees the body, interconnected system that requires balance to function correctly.
Diagnosis and treatment are carried out using the hands, a technique known as “palpation” or “Osteopathic Listening”.
During consultation a full, detailed, medical history will be taken followed by a physical examination that will include simple movements to help assess and analyse posture and mobility. An individual treatment plan will then be devised to meet patient’s needs. As Osteopathy emphasis self-healing, this may include advice on dietary changes, home exercises, and lifestyle adjustments in addition to the hands on therapy.
