We wouldn’t be without her and we consider her very much part of our team. We thought you’d like to know more about Tracy, her business and and her hopes going forwards. Let us know your thoughts. We asked Tracy some questions and here are her responses! Over to you, Tracy.
Tell us a bit about yourself and the name or nature of your business/ or role.
I’m Tracy, I care for people experiencing any abnormalities in the foot and lower limb. My business Tracy Pope Podiatry has clinical sessions on site at Tayloredfit. I work in collaboration with the physiotherapy and holistic services already available to offer patients Podiatry and Chiropody treatment.
Tell us more about your work
My work involves meeting clients and diagnosing and treating their footcare needs. This could be anything from treating corns, verrucae and hard skin, to cutting toenails, fungal nails and ingrown toenails. I see common foot problems like heel pain and plantar fasciitis to diabetic foot care check. The job is very varied, it’s why I enjoy it so much.
Who would benefit from coming to see you?
Everyone! Myth busting time….Podiatry or Chiropody used to be seen as a treatment for people who couldn’t manage their own toes nails. Without a doubt, I do see lots of clients who need nail care and general foot care maintenance. However, the profession has changed along with the public demand for more holistic and cosmetic approach to health. I have many younger clients that come for cosmetic care, who would describe their treatment as a medical pedicure. I also have patients who come due to complex medical conditions such as diabetes or arthritic conditions which effect their feet. Some of my clients also fall under Podiatry care where they are assessed and treated for pain in the lower limb ankle and foot. This could be anyone from a professional marathon runner to someone who does no exercise but suffers with foot or lower limb pain.
What are the best bits about what you do?
Meeting new people every day and being able to make the feel better. I’m so passionate about my job and being able to make a positive impact on someone’s health and wellbeing. There’s no greater feeling than when a patient says they feel like they are walking on air following the treatment.
What are the biggest challenges about what you do?
People often underestimate the importance of their feet. Feet are often bottom of the list of priorities when we think of our full body health. I try to educate my patients on how our foot function can impact our posture and the way we walk.
Why did you choose to collaborate with Tayloredfit?
As soon as I walked through the door, I knew I wanted to work here! When you come into the practice, you’ll know exactly what I mean. It’s calm and relaxing and so welcoming. Vicky and Mark have been so supportive providing the opportunity to take on more clinical sessions and invite more patients into the practice as my business has grown.
What are your business goals in the next 5 years?
Here hopefully! I love working alongside the TayloredFit team. When podiatry and physio collaborate like this, I can offer patients easy referral into treatment such as foot and ankle massage and mobilisation. With the recent addition of reflexology to services at TayloredFit there’s every possible foot care treatment all under one roof. I intend to continue to expand my podiatry knowledge and expertise with additional training and bring those skills into my practice for the next 5 years and the years to come.
Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?
We were lucky enough to go to Hong Kong a few years ago. It was just a magical exciting place. The city was so exciting and busy but filled with calm spaces like parks and gardens and temples.
Who makes you laugh?
My lovely French Bulldog, he’s a bit of an old man now in age but he still thinks he’s a puppy. He’ll do anything for attention. He has me chuckling every day.
What is your top tip to staying healthy in mind and body?
Be kind to yourself. Everyone needs a little moment of calm, sometimes for me it can be a bit of exercise. I enjoy the Pilates and Yoga classes at TayloredFit and taking my dog for a walk, or even just sitting with a cuppa and enjoying a good book.
Tell us a random, interesting or funny story about you!
I got married in the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Elvis was in the building, however he didn’t perform at the ceremony.
Thank you so much Tracy, you’re one of the nicest people we’ve ever had the pleasure to know and work with, and hope you’ll be with Tayloredfit for a long time to come!
