Five months at Tayloredfit Physio and it’s genuinely flown by. I’m Frances, the Practice Manager here, and if you’ve popped into reception recently, you might already have said hello.
Why I Was Drawn Here
My background is in programme and project management, streamlining processes, people management and social media content creation. However, holistic therapies have always been a bit of a personal passion of mine. I’ve trained in Indian Head Massage and Laughter Therapy over the years, so a clinic built around holistic care felt like exactly the sort of place I wanted to bring my skills to. It was the interview itself that sealed it though. From the moment I walked in, the clinic felt wonderfully peaceful, with a lovely scent in the air and relaxing music playing softly at reception. That, along with the warm welcome from Vicky and Mark, told me this was somewhere I could feel properly at home. I wanted that second interview badly and I’m very glad it worked out.
Behind the Scenes: Making Things Smoother
A big part of my role has been looking at how we can streamline things for everyone: patients, reception and clinicians alike. The headline project is our new website, which will bring in a self-service system for booking classes and, further down the line, a fully paperless system for clinical appointments too. It’s the kind of problem-solving I genuinely love, finding ways to make life that bit easier for the people using our services.
Discovering the Treatments Myself
I thought I knew the clinic’s services fairly well before I started, but working here has shown me just how special the range on offer really is. I’ve had the chance to experience CranioSacral Therapy first hand, and attending the Upledger Introductory course led by Vicky afterwards was a real eye opener in understanding how it actually works. More recently, I’ve also benefited from scar therapy, a treatment I had no awareness of prior to joining. It’s made a real difference to an old scar of mine and I’d genuinely encourage anyone curious about it to ask us more.
Finding My Community in Class
I’ve also made a point of joining classes to see them from the inside and now attend two physiotherapist-led Pilates classes a week. They’ve made a real difference to my day-to-day mobility and how I understand my own body. Just as importantly, there’s a lovely community that provides encouragement in the room and just the right amount of humour to get everyone through.
Looking Ahead
There’s plenty more to come: continuing to support the clinic’s growth, keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and helping the team keep delivering the high standard of care our patients know us for.
If you’re ever passing, pop your head into the Lotus Room by the Bamboo Studio and say hi. I’d love to meet you.
