Hi, I’m Ileana, and my journey to Craniosacral Therapy is one that began right here at Tayloredfit, as a client!
I spent 11 years working in the ambulance service, beginning as an Apprentice Ambulance Care Assistant in 2014. Over the years I worked across a variety of roles, on frontline Emergency Response Ambulances as a Clinical Care Assistant, within the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response team, and later as a Team Leader in Resource Scheduling. Throughout all of it, one thing remained constant: a deep belief that every person deserves to feel heard, respected and cared for, especially on their hardest days. Working through COVID reinforced that more than ever.
It was during my second maternity leave that I first discovered Craniosacral Therapy. My baby daughter was suffering with severe silent reflux and, despite trying everything conventional medicine had to offer, nothing was bringing her relief. On the recommendation of our Health Visitor, we came to Tayloredfit to see Vicky. Within 48 hours of that single session, my daughter was transformed, calm, content and pain-free. As someone with a clinical background, I couldn’t let that go unexplained! I needed to understand how such a gentle therapy could achieve such significant results.
I booked my own sessions, found real relief from the aches, pains and stress I’d been carrying, and became fascinated by the body’s extraordinary capacity for self-correction. That curiosity led me to train with the Upledger Institute UK, and eventually to leave the ambulance service entirely to focus on my studies and build my own practice. In that time I have had the privilege of supporting many adults on their road to recovery, working with people living with chronic illness, stress and overwhelm, migraines, musculoskeletal pain, injuries, post surgical recovery and much more. Witnessing the transformation that Craniosacral Therapy can bring, often in people who have tried many other avenues, never gets old. It is a constant reminder of why I made this leap.
Vicky and Mark have been an inspiration throughout my journey, which makes joining Team Tayloredfit part-time feel like a very special full-circle moment. I’m absolutely chuffed to be here.
Outside of work and study, I have a wonderful husband and two children who keep life joyful and beautifully chaotic. I’ve recently rediscovered a love of singing and am busy learning and honing my skills whenever I get a spare moment.
